trainingTriage clients value our well-trained workforce. That’s why we take pride in our award-winning training program, which is tailored to meet the needs of individuals at every level of the organization. In 2008, Triage won the distinguished honor of Best Leadership Development Program in America by Leadership Excellence, a monthly magazine started by Ken Shelton, Stephen R. Covey, Ken Blanchard, and Charles Garfield. Employees receive formal classroom training, as well as extensive onsite training. Associate training is geared towards acquiring consulting skills, gaining experience with technical tools, and learning more about the healthcare industry. Seniors Associate training focuses on project management and business skills. Manager training targets expanding leadership skills. Principals' training is geared towards keeping abreast of healthcare issues in politics, clinical breakthroughs, and national trends.
Our training program is frequently updated based on company-wide focus areas, critical feedback from the participants, and areas noted for development on employee evaluations. At Triage -- and in our dynamic industry -- the learning never ends. ASSOCIATE LEVELtraining modulesUpon being hired, new Associates spend four days in the office familiarizing themselves with Triage's culture, values and workflow. Over the course of their first year, Associates participate in 15 training modules facilitated by our in-house consultant staff and outside industry experts. Every six weeks or so, Associates return to the office to learn core business and healthcare-related skills in order to prepare for the next stages of their careers. onsite trainingNew Associates are placed with an onsite project team ranging from two to ten people. While onsite, Associates work with seasoned Senior Associates and Managers to learn the necessary skills to excel in our everyday work. Here, Associates gain valuable exposure to client decision-makers and learn the basics of project management. mentor program/tracking managerAfter joining the firm, each Associate is assigned to an experienced Senior Associate who acts as a mentor during the Associate's first 21 months at Triage. This invaluable contact acts as a liaison for the Associate to voice any concerns regarding the job, from "Who should I talk to about getting involved with the sustainability squad?" to "What should I pack for my first out of town project?" In addition to a mentor, each Associate is assigned a tracking manager. This person checks in formally with the Associate every six months to monitor career progression and evaluate performance. squad involvement and teambuilding activitiesTriage's emphasis on teamwork is perhaps best demonstrated in our unique internal squads. From Recruiting to Culture, Sustainability to Information Technology, there are many opportunities to get involved. Squad members are viewed as leaders within the firm and develop invaluable skills by organizing a variety of large-scale events and participating in offsite strategic-planning retreats. SENIOR ASSOCIATE LEVELproject managementSenior Associates are in charge of all day to day activities, and they ensure that projects are running smoothly and profitably. In order to best meet the demands of this role, each new Senior Associate is enrolled in New Senior School. The classes, directed by senior Managers in the firm, provide Senior Associates with the tools to run successful projects, create satisfied clients, and motivate Associates. business meetingsEach quarter, the Training Squad hosts a conference for all Principals, Managers and Senior Associates. We share best practices, listen to healthcare experts cover the latest industry topics, and brainstorm better ways to serve our clients. Past meetings have focused on everything from Medicare reform to cutting-edge clinical breakthroughs in medicine. next generation leadership trainingTriage has teamed up with UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business to develop a leadership program, focusing on many of the core competencies taught in a traditional MBA program. Drawing on a curriculum from both MBA and MPH programs, the course has been a tremendous success in developing Triage staff into healthcare leaders. All Senior Associates are eligible for this unique program. MANAGER LEVELHFMA membershipAll Triage Managers are sponsored members of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. This national organization holds regional conferences that our senior staff attends to gain industry insight and explore networking opportunities. next generation executive leadership trainingTriage Managers are responsible for managing multiple projects, taking part in the administration of squad activities, and maintaining valuable client relations. To equip our teams for these challenges, Triage trains Managers by inviting industry experts to speak on pertinent topics like contract law, leadership, communication, innovation and professional networking. As a group, the Principals enjoy a high level of trust, execution, integrity, communication and support. In order to develop these same attributes between and among the Managers, each year, the Principals assemble groups of Managers to research and analyze the most vexing problems facing the firm. The Managers work together all year long to develop recommendations and solutions which they present to the Principals and Board of Directors. |
